Bravo's "Make Me A Supermodel"

Make Me a Supermodel is Bravo's answer to "America's Next Top Model." However, instead of having a bunch of wide-eyed young girls too short or too old to be a model this show seems serious about making stars. It also takes a page from "The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency" by adding some gays, nudity, and bitchy comments.

The new season is vastly different than last season. Last season, was entertaining with the friction between the male and female models, the risqu? photo shoots, and the high profile bromance between contestants Ronnie Kroell and Ben DiChiara.

This season the format is different. Nikki Taylor is no longer the host. Tyson Beckford is the host and male model mentor. He is joined by female model mentor Nicole Trunfio. The judges are also new and include fashion designer Catherine Malandrino, London photographer Perou, and former model Jenny Shimizu.

The cast boasts some interesting characters right off the bat. Former Mennonite Salome is the largest model but also has the biggest ego. Androgynous model Chris and married contestant Shawn hold it down for the gays. Colin is the geeky socially awkward virgin. Jordan becomes the instant fan favorite by taking no time to trash the BS of her fellow contestants.

"Make Me a Supermodel" is like all Bravo shows chock full of cattiness, sexiness, and fabulous celebrities. The first challenge has the teams paired up and dangling from a huge clear box. This season winners receive go-sees and other benefits to their career.
