After Defending Her, Kevin Hart Spotted with Ellen Amid Talkshow Scandal

Ellen DeGeneres was spotted hanging out with fellow comedian Kevin Hart over the weekend, not long after he mounted a defense for the talk show host amid her toxic workplace scandal.

People magazine reports the duo had lunch at Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, Calif. Photos of their hangout show the celebs wearing tropical-print tops, but it's unclear what the two discussed.

Their lunch comes one week after Hart took to Instagram to defend DeGeneres and called her "one of the dopest people on the fucking planet."

"She has treated my family and team with love and respect from day 1," he wrote. "The internet has become a crazy world of negativity... we are falling in love with peoples downfall. It's honestly sad."

DeGeneres is in the midst of a scandal after Warner Bros. launched in an internal investigation into her daytime talk show after reports surfaced where current and former employees alleged a toxic workplace environment, racism and sexual misconduct.

Last year, DeGeneres showed support for Hart when he was facing his own controversy. He was tapped to host the 2019 Oscars, but was hit with an online backlash over homophobic tweets he had made in the past. DeGeneres invited him on "Ellen," where he apologized to the LGBTQ community and she accepted.

People magazine notes that DeGeneres is expected to return to her talk show next month.
