'RuPaul's Drag Race': Thorgy Thor

Scott Holland READ TIME: 2 MIN.

In Week 7 of "Drag Race," the mini-challenge featured Andrew Christian models, and the "Gurls" had to answer questions about them by putting them on the "top" or "bottom" of a bunk bed. The winner was Derrick Barry.

The maxi-challenge put the contestants in pairs to create their own presidential campaign ads by promoting themselves and smearing their opponents. In the end the bottom two were Chi Chi and Thorgy, and Thorgy sashayed away.

I have basically agreed with all the eliminations, but I have to say this was a miss. Thorgy was one of the most talented queens this season and should have DEFINITELY made top three.

This week I'd like to give a special shoutout to Michelle Visage, who never looked more beautiful than she did at the judges' panel this week.

At what age did drag become an interest and how did you pick your name?

I stated a little later than most. I have always been an entertainer. I started by playing music...my drag was inspired by the drag icons of New York. I started by doing artsy things and then I started working in the clubs.

Thor is my middle name as I am named after my grandfather, and my good friends called me Thor my whole life. Therefore it was a natural to pick Thor as my drag last name and I liked it so much I just added "GY" and made that my first name.

How many times did you apply to be on RPDR and how did it feel when you found out you were chosen?

I auditioned every season since season one, and when I finally got the call I was so ready to go. All I said was, "When is my flight?"

Is there an additional pressure now that RuPaul is in its eighth season and has aired 100 shows?

Of course, it has gotten crazier every year. The expectations from the fans are so high. You really put yourself out there, and have to have a thick skin because people can be vicious.

Tell me about your "RuPaul's Drag Race" experience.

It was great. I had a blast! I was the happiest I have ever been in my life. It was nonstop, and I loved how every minute of my schedule was filled.

Who do you want to win?

Certain girls were treated very differently from the moment we walked in, and I think the top two will be those girls: Kim Chi and Bob. However, I am rooting for Naomi secretly.

Tell me something people would be surprised to know about you.

My grandfather was an Olympic ski jumping champion from Norway, and he won a medal. That's my grandpa Thor who I was named after.

What's ahead for Thorgy?

I have a lot of ideas, but I would like to do big events that I can put my head into. I really want to do theater shows, so I can make myself into many characters in the show. I also want to construct an 80 piece orchestra called the "Thorchestra".
