'Orange Is the New Black' Wins Big at SAG Awards

The hit Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black" won big at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night, Sunday, January 25, nabbing the Actor awards for ensemble in a comedy series. Co-star Uzo Aduba also took home the female actor SAG Award.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Aduba, who plays inmate Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren accepted the ensemble trophy for the cast of 40, who crowded the stage around her.
Aduba thanked series creator Jenji Kohan of "Weeds" fame, Lionsgate and the viewers of Netflix streaming service for making the show a hit.
"We want to say thank you for this incredible honor. Thank you very, very much," said Aduba as reported by Yahoo News.
Missing from the group was lead actress Taylor Schilling, who plays Piper Kerman, a woman sentenced to federal penitentiary for 15 months, for a decade-old drug trafficking charge. Schilling is currently cast in a production of "A Month In the Country" co-starring Peter Dinklage at New York City's prestigious Classic Stage Company.
The ensemble beat out the crews from "Veep," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "The Big Bang Theory" and "Modern Family."
It was quite an evening for Aduba, who launched the 21st Screen Actors Guild Awards by winning the award for best female actor in a comedy role. The event was held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
