PopUps: Taylor Swift Goes Meta with Crazy Cat Lady Coke Ad

In her quest to take over your mind, every aspect of your life and the entire world until her fifth album, "1989," drops on Oct. 27, Taylor Swift has fully self-actualized in a new commercial for Diet Coke, becoming the crazy cat lady we always knew she was.

It's no secret that the "22" singer, 24, is a huge fan of cats - she owns two, Meredith and Olivia Benson. In her Rolling Stone cover story, the piece opens up with a quote where she says: "So my brother comes home the other day and he goes 'Oh, my God - I just saw a guy walking down the street with a cat on his head."

"My first reaction was, 'Did you take a picture?'" she continues. "And then I thought about it. Half of my brain was going, 'We should be able to take a picture if we want to. That guy is asking for it - he's got a cat on his head!' But the other half was going, 'What if he just wants to walk around with a cat on his head, and not have his picture taken all day?'"

Then there's this quote from Access Hollywood (via E! Online) from September where Tay Tay explains why she carries Olivia around New York City with her.

"The kitten freaks out about being put in the cat carrier," she said. "So I was just like, 'OK, all right, we're gonna just do this!' It was like a 10-foot walk from my door to the car! What I thought was funny about those pictures is that, like, the cat is looking straight at the cameras!"

Right.

But in the new ad for Diet Coke, Taylor comes full circle and embraces her inner cat lady.

The pop star sips on a Diet Coke while playing with Olivia, but every time she takes a swig of the soda, a new cat appears. She keeps at it and before the 32-second ad, which already has nearly 553,000 views on YouTube, ends, Taylor is literally drowning in a sea of fluffy kitties.
