PopUps :: Julianne Hough Accidentally Outs 'Mean Girls' Hunk

Though things might be dire for Season 19 of ABC's competition reality series "Dancing With the Stars" (the biggest names this go-around are fashion designer Betsey Johnson and 1980's "Back to the Future" star, Lea Thompson), matters may have gotten more interesting this week when judge and two-time "DWTS" champion Julianne Hugh accidentally outed hunky contestant, actor Jonathan Bennett during an interview on the celebrity gossip show, "Extra."

According to a number of reports, including Radar Online, Hough outed the "Mean Girls" star while chatting with Mario Lopez during in an interview on "Extra." She told Lopez that Bennett once tweeted to her, complementing her butt.

"He tweeted at me last year and said I had a nice butt, and I thought, 'Oh he's hitting on me-I should try to go on a date with him!'" she said of the 33-year-old actor.

"What happened?" Lopez asked.

"He's gay- so I was like, 'That's not gonna work!'" Hough, 26, said.

Rumors regarding Bennett's sexuality have been around for years. In 2009, Perez Hilton linked Matt Dallas, the star of ABC Family's sci-fi drama "Kyle XY," with Bennett.

Bennett has never come out or commented on his sexuality. He's yet to respond to Hough's comments but, as Radar Online points out, he did tweet the following message on Sept. 20:

"You've got to keep moving towards the goal, no matter what's in front of you."
