Fresh off their star turns on "The Politician" and "Schitt's Creek," respectively, Bette Midler and Dan Levy will feature in the new HBO comedy "Coastal Elites" on September 12.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Midler and Levy will be joined by Issa Rae ("Insecure"), Sarah Paulson ("American Horror Story"), and Kaitlyn Dever ("Last Man Standing").

The series from playwright/screenwriter Paul Rudnick ("In & Out") and director Jay Roach ("Austin Powers" film series) will focus on navigating life in the pandemic and shutdown, spotlighting "five distinct points-of-view across the United States."

Midler stars as Miriam Nessler, a New York City public school teacher that ends up in police custody, while Levy's Mark Hesterman is "a young actor in West Hollywood videoconferencing with his therapist at a moment of career and personal stress." Callie Josephson, played by Issa Rae, is a philanthropist that works her way into the upper levels of government, while Paulson's Clarissa Montgomery is a YouTubing meditation guru, and Dever portrays a Wyoming nurse, Sharynn Tarrows, who volunteers to help in a New York hospital at the height of the pandemic.
