Surprise! Jennifer Coolidge will return for the second season of the breakout HBO comedy "The White Lotus," reprising her role as Tanya McQuoid, according to a report for TVLine.

Though the network hasn't commented on the casting, TVLine reports multiple sources confirmed that Coolidge will return to the series, created, written and directed by out screenwriter Mike White.

"The White Lotus" became an acclaimed hit for HBO over the summer. Filmed in Hawaii during the pandemic in late 2020, the show is set on a beautiful high-end resort and follows a group of tourists as well as employees of The White Lotus. Along with Coolidge, who earned lots of praise and Emmy buzz for her role as the grieving and often drunk Tanya, the comedy also stars Connie Britton, Jake Lacy, Alexandra Daddario, Sydney Sweeney, Murray Bartlett, Steve Zahn, Molly Shannon, Natasha Rothwell, Fred Hechinger, Brittany O'Grady, Lukas Gage and more.

Though "The White Lotus" was initially billed as a limited series, HBO renewed it for a second season soon after the finale aired in the summer. Variety reports that the network said satire comedy will be an anthology series of sorts "and follows a different group of vacationers as they jet to another White Lotus property and settle in temporarily amongst its inhabitants."

Speaking with TVLine, White talked about the possibility of Season 1 stars returning for future "White Lotus" seasons.

"I don't think you can credibly have [all the Season 1 guests] on the same vacation again," he said. "But maybe it could be a Marvel Universe type thing, where some of them would come back. We only made one-year deals with the actors, so we'd have to find out who is even available."
