Watch: Trailer Released for 'The Black Party 2017: Dark Matter'
The Saint at Large announced last week that after two years in Brooklyn, this year's Black Party will return to its Manhattan roots. The party, which is traditionally held on the Saturday closest to the vernal equinox, will take place on Saturday, April 1 at Space (651 West 50th Street).
The theme for this year's Black Party, "Dark Matter" is described by the event's creative director, acclaimed conceptual artist, Rob Roth (Rhianna, David Bowie, Lady Gaga, Click + Drag).
"On April 1, the Resistance will launch a stealth mission to transport refugees fleeing Earth's hostile new world order to a fantastic alternate universe where bizarrely-uniformed men have forged their own, queer, libertine, Eden," writes Roth.
A 20-hour event, The Black Party is structured in five acts corresponding to five sets of increasingly intense dance music by world class DJs that will include: Byrell the Great, Roi Perez, Boris, Mike Servito, Name Johnson and Johnny Dynell in the Main room.
Space's Lunar Lounge will feature the talents of DJ's Dawson, Dandylion, W. Jeremy, Gustavo, Phillip Kimball and Brian Gately.
As always the party will feature "strange live acts."
Dress is "Heavy." Leave cameras and phones at home.
